It’s been more than two years since 24-year-old Mohamed Ali Ibrahim was fatally gunned down outside the River Cree Resort and Casino on the Enoch reserve.
Now the two men accused of causing his death have been found guilty of second-degree murder.
Following the trial earlier this month for Adam Michael Brown 23, and Alexander Edward
Ibrahim, formerly of Toronto, was known to police and had been living in Edmonton for more than a year when he was fatally shot outside the casino in the early morning hours of Aug. 30, 2008.
Witnesses during the trial said they heard multiple gunshots, then saw two people on the ground and a man dressed in black running from the scene towards the parking lot.
The shooting occurred after a fight broke out in the Casino lounge.
Munira Omar, 20, was caught in the crossfire and sustained injuries to her hip.
Brown and Reid were also convicted of assault with a weapon.
