MUSKEGON COUNTY, MI – Disappointment and hope represent the overall reaction coming from elected and tribal leaders in the Muskegon area after a proposed casino project remains in limbo.
One of the state representatives from Muskegon County, Terry Sabo, said in a statement that he’s optimistic that Gov. Gretchen Whitmer will eventually sign off on the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians’ proposed casino. An eleventh-hour extension Thursday gave the governor another six months to decide if the $180 million proposal will move forward.
