MGM Resorts International (MGM) has completed the sale of the land beneath the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City and has received $73 million as payment.
Scientific Games Corp. (SGMS) has won the lottery gaming systems contract from the Iowa Lottery. The contract begins July 2011 and runs for seven years.
Shuffle Master Inc. (SHFL) says it has made David Lopez the company’s interim chief executive officer. He has been serving as chief operating officer. A search continues for a permanent CEO.
Gaming observers believe that Isle of Capri Inc. (ISLE) will be the successful bidder for Missouri’s 13th and final gaming license. The company has a site selected in Cape Girardeau whose voters last week approved casino gaming.
Voters in Wapello County, Iowa, have rejected casino gambling by a vote of 52-48.
The Siena Hotel Casino in Reno, Nevada, will be put up for auction on Wednesday, Nov. 10.
Also up for sale is the aging riverboat S.S. Admiral, that until last summer, was used as a casino on the Mississippi River in St. Louis, Missouri. Owners of the 95-foot vessel expect it to bring $1.5million.
