PRIOR LAKE, Minn. - An Eden Prairie man faces a child neglect charge after he admitted to leaving his infant son in a car while he gambled at Mystic Lake.
On Nov. 21st, police were called to the casino parking lot after someone noticed a baby crying inside an unattended SUV. Officers discovered the 17-month-old boy strapped in a car seat, wearing a onsie and covered with a blanket. The temperature outside was 25 degrees.
Police later found the boy's father, 29-year-old Nicholas Anderson, had been inside the casino gambling for nearly two hours. According to the complaint, Anderson told police "nothing good" could happen to a baby left unattended in an unheated vehicle in cold weather.
Anderson faces up to a year in jail and $3,000 fine if convicted of child neglect.
