HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — Casino giant Caesars Entertainment and other investors in the long-stalled Foxwoods Philadelphia Casino project are asking state regulators to return the license they stripped last month.
A casino project lawyer, Fred Jacoby, said Monday that the petition for
Board members voted 6-1 on Dec. 16 to strip the $50 million license.
Some board members expressed concern that the group didn't have the financing commitments it needs to build the $275 million casino and that it wouldn't live up to the charitable commitments it made before winning the license in 2006.
A board spokesman says the panel will review the petition. Its next public meeting is Jan. 26.
