Clallam County deputies are asking the public’s help in finding a Sequim man who allegedly abandoned his children in the 7 Cedars Casino parking lot in Blyn.
Deputies said Travis Michael Parker, 38, left his two children, who are 5 months and 1 1/2 years old, in their car seats in the parking lot Saturday morning and drove away.
A patron going into the casino saw the children about eight minutes after they were abandoned and notified casino security, who contacted the mother, deputies said on the Clallam County Sheriff’s Facebook page.
The children were returned to her safely, deputies said.
They have been unable to find Parker, who is wanted for investigation of family abandonment, a Class C felony, and leaving children unattended in a motor vehicle.
Parker is about 5-feet, 7-inches tall, weighs about 135 pounds and has brown hair and eyes.
An investigation found that Parker arrived at the casino at about 5 a.m., parked his vehicle in the lot with his two children inside and left them alone in the car to go into the casino, deputies said.
While inside, he called the mother and told her she needed to take the children because he had to go to work. She asked him to take their children to her home and she would meet them there, deputies said.
Instead, Parker walked out of the casino to his vehicle, removed the children from his car and left them in their car seats behind their mother’s car in the parking lot, deputies said, adding that he then got back into his own vehicle and drove away.
