The Zombies are known for such hits as “Time of the Season,” “She’s Not There” and “A Rose For Emily.” Wilson has had both a prolific solo career and also played a major role within the Beach Boys, lending his voice and instrument playing talent to such songs as “Good Vibrations,” “I Get Around” and “Wouldn’t It Be Nice.”

How about starting your weekend off with a little bit of R&B and hip-hop? Four-time Grammy Award-winning band The Roots will play Harrah’s Resort Southern California. The band, which formed in the late ’80s, is known for such hits as “What They Do,” “You Got Me” and “The Fire.” They have collaborated with such other artists as Erykah Badu, Jennifer Hudson and rapper Common. The group is also seen weeknights on late night as the house band on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” Not only can they rock their regular instruments, but also the candy-colored ones you’d find in a kindergarten classroom.

Singer-songwriter Chris Isaak, known for his retro style and sometimes rockabilly-inspired sound, will play the Temecula area resort. Some of Isaak’s popular songs are “Wicked Game,” “Baby Did a Bad Bad Thing,” “San Francisco Days” and “Blue Hotel.” Isaak has worked a lot with director David Lynch, supplying music to some of Lynch’s films. Fans of the Lynch film “Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me” might recognize Isaak as Special Agent Chester Desmond.

The Highland casino will be the place to get into the swing of things, as Big Bad Voodoo Daddy performs a 90-minute show at the casino’s Rock & Brews restaurant. Some of the band’s well-known tracks are “Go Daddy-O,” “You & Me & the Bottle Makes 3 Tonight (Baby)” and “Mr. Pinstripe Suit.”

The diverse selection of musical entertainment at casinos continues with reggae at Spotlight 29. British reggae band UB40 will make a stop at the Coachella casino for a 40th Anniversary Tour. Some of the band’s top hits are “Red Red Wine,” “Can’t Help Falling In Love” and “The Way You Do The Things You Do.”
The group also plays The Novo in Los Angeles on Sept. 1.
