JONES COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - A casino surrounded by some controversy is scheduled to open December 20th in Jones County.
That's the word from The Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians. The 27-thousand square foot Bok Homa Casino is located on tribal land near Dandersville.
It has drawn sharp opposition from religious groups and some political leaders including Governor
Research by the State Attorney General's office concluded in late July that a tribal compact signed in 1992 protects the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians' right to build gaming establishments on tribal lands.
