HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – Several people were injured after a fire suppression tank exploded at the Seminole Classic Casino Hollywood on Monday morning, sending drywall flying below, city and Seminole Tribe officials say.
There are not believed to be any fatalities.
Authorities say six people were taken to local hospitals with injuries. Another 20 refused transport but were treated on-scene in the parking lot with minor injuries that included scrapes and irritation.
Fire suppression equipment was being installed in an equipment room behind the wall. A tribe spokesman said they were done servicing the system and when they turned it back on, the tank exploded.
