Vehicles damaged near casino | Peninsula Daily News

BLYN — Law enforcement officials are seeking anyone with more information about damage done to vehicles following an alleged one-man rampage in Blyn last week.

The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office reported that security personnel at the 7 Cedars Casino and Resort received information Wednesday that a man was damaging vehicles in the parking lot with an unknown weapon.

While deputies and Sequim Police Department officers were en route, the casino’s video surveillance team tracked the man’s movements from the casino’s parking lot to the Longhouse Market and Deli parking lot, the sheriff’s office said. When officers arrived, the man fled into a dense thicket of brambles just south of the Longhouse.

He was located a few minutes later and taken into custody.

The man was later identified by his state-issued photo ID as 29-year-old Luke O. Lindsey, whose last known address was Port Ludlow.

He was booked into the Clallam County jail for investigation of second-degree vehicle prowl, third-degree theft and first-degree malicious mischief.

He was not listed on the jail roster on Sunday.

After reviewing video surveillance, sheriff’s office investigators said Lindsey had stolen a case of beer and some assorted snacks from the Longhouse.

At about 11:30 p.m., he walked around the casino parking lot, randomly hitting cars with a beer bottle and a sock that contained a heavy object, the sheriff’s office said.

The video showed he damaged at least 10 vehicles with an estimated combined total greater than $5,000, law enforcement officials said.

The sheriff’s office said Lindsey then fled on foot east toward the Longhouse, broke out a window at Fire District 3 Station 37 and caused several hundred dollars of damage to the light fixtures on the property.

After that, he approached a loaded commercial flatbed truck and trailer park at the Longhouse, according to the sheriff’s office, which said he entered its exterior tool boxes and loosened the cargo straps that were securing the truck’s load.

Lindsey was recently cleared as a missing person after he was contacted in Poulsbo on May 18. His criminal history includes six felony convictions, two for first-degree malicious mischief (property damage over $5,000), second-degree robbery, second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm, first-degree taking a motor vehicle without permission, and attempting to elude law enforcement.

Anyone with damage to their vehicles from this incident is asked to call dispatch at 360-417-2459 to file a report.
