With the Ohio River rising, Horseshoe Southern Indiana is closing its casino riverboat, 500-room hotel, restaurants and other amenities at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
The casino, located about 14 miles downriver in Harrison County, announced it's canceling all promotions, events and entertainment at the complex from Tuesday through Friday and would reopen when "water levels have receded to a safe level."
The casino has battled floods in the past, being forced to close when water covers Indiana Highway 111 and a creek at the back of the property rises out of its banks.Â

The casino's "marine operations staff is closely monitoring the river forecast and a future announcement regarding reopening will be sent as soon as possible," according to company's statement.
Officials advised that patrons check for updates on Facebook and Twitter or call 866-605-9088.
