International Game Technology, which makes casino equipment like slot machines, has struggled to overcome consumer weakness and increasing competition.

Its fourth-quarter earnings report indicated the company is still

grappling with those challenges.

After the market closed on Tuesday, International Game Technology (ticker: IGT) reported quarterly earnings of $53 million, or 18 cents per share, on $496 million in revenue. Analysts had forecast earnings of 19 cents per share on revenue of $496 million.
