Police say a man playing on a slot machine inside the Golden Nugget Casino was randomly stabbed.

LVMPD says 22-year-old Anthony Oliva-Olsten stabbed a tourist visiting from another country who was playing on a slot machine inside the Golden Nugget Casino.

The attack happened just after 1 a.m. Monday morning.

Detectives say Oliva-Olsten asked the tourist for a cigarette. Seconds later the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the tourist in his right side near his upper chest. Police say the stabbing was random.

Sue Pryby who is visiting from Wisconsin and staying at the Golden Nugget tells us this is concerning.

"I'm actually shocked because I've stayed here many times. I always feel safe here."

Police tell us the victim's brother was playing a couple of slot machines away from him. Once he realized his brother was stabbed he chased Oliva-Olsten, but was not able to catch up with him.

Investigators say security at the Four Queens spotted Oliva-Olsten on surveillance. Police were called and officers managed to arrest Oliva-Olsten near Fremont and Maryland Parkway.

The victim was taken to a local hospital where he was listed in stable condition. He's expected to recover. Pryby tells us the random attack will not stop her from coming back to Las Vegas.

Pryby said, "Not necessarily. I'm aware there is a crime element around here. I usually look around wherever I go."Police say a man playing on a slot machine inside the Golden Nugget Casino was randomly stabbed.
