A fire broke out at the Encore Boston Harbor in Everett, Massachusetts, on Sunday morning.
The fire broke out at the $2.5 billion Boston-area casino around 9:30 a.m. on the fourth floor roof, which is approximately 1,500 square feet, adjacent to the casino tower, according to Greg John, the executive director of brand marketing.
The fire was started by sparks that fell from a welder on the tower, and the flames were knocked down before Everett Fire arrived on scene.
There were no safety issues, according to John, and no injuries were reported.
Officials are unsure of the total amount of damage at this time but John says it will have no impact on the opening date of the casino, which remains under construction.
The hotel, formerly named Wynn Boston Harbor, was renamed in April as part of Wynn Resorts' efforts to distance itself from founder Steve Wynn following sexual misconduct allegations.
