Charleston takes a leaf out of Myrtle Beach's book
I t's taken a millennium or two, but it looks like stuffy old Charleston, the self-described Holy City of South Carolina, is finally looking to the Grand Strand for help in rounding up tourists.
OK, we're not actually talking Charleston - it's as stuffy as ever - but North Charleston, which is
looking for a pot of gold at the stern of a casino boat.
This week, North Charleston officials took a cruise on a casino boat out of Savannah, Ga. Most people see the excursion as the first stop in getting its own casino boat by the end of the year - an idea supported by the mayor and some members of the City Council.
