WASHINGTON — Maryland’s six casinos generated a record $141.2 million in gambling revenue for the state, a whopping 44 percent more than casino revenue in the same month a year ago.
MGM National Harbor accounted for the lion’s share of last month’s casino revenue, with $51.2 million generated from its slot machines and table games. MGM National Harbor operates more than 3,100 slots and 165 table games.March was a record month for MGM National Harbor.
Maryland Live!, formerly the state’s top revenue generator, had $46.6 million in gaming revenue last month.
Baltimore’s Horseshoe Casino contributed about $27 million to March gambling revenue.
Hollywood Casino Perryville, Rocky Gap Casino Resort and Casino at Ocean Downs accounted for the balance, at about $7 million, $4.7 million and $4.67 million, respectively.
The previous record for Maryland casinos was in December, the same month MGM opened, when the state’s six casinos generated about $134 million.
