In keeping with a pledge to make $1 million in charitable donations to local charities over five years, the Kehl Family and Rhythm City Casino have announced gifts of more than $200,000 to five Davenport organizations that aid the poor and homeless.
Humility of Mary Housing, Humility of Mary Shelter, King’s Harvest, each received $50,000 while Café on Vine and Father Conroy’s Vineyard of Hope each received $25,000.
In addition, the Rhythm City Casino put donation boxes around its property and collected $5,600 from guests to distribute to the charities. Humility of Mary Housing, Humility of Mary Shelter and King’s Harvest each received $1,400 in donations from the collection boxes, while Café on Vine and Father Conroy’s Vineyard of Hope received $700 each.
“It’s an honor to once again be able to give back to our community, especially during the holiday season,” said Rhythm City Casino Resort General Manager Mo Hyder.

In 2013, Casino developer Dan Kehl pledged to provide $1 million over five years to five Davenport nonprofits.
This year’s donations are the fourth of the five installments to the charities.
