The former congressman Friday told reporters he purchased 70 acres of land in for the resort. Traficant said he bought the land in Lordstown at the intersection of Salts Springs and Lyntz roads near the turnpike.

"With the addition of the Lordstown site, the resources brought by and opportunities generated from the Indian developments can facilitate an economic explosion in Northwestern Mahoning County and Southwestern Trumbull County," Traficant said in a prepared statement. "With local support and political cooperation, these projects-which aren't seeking funds from any government entity-will become a reality much more quickly, and create 1,500 jobs in the near future."
Traficant would not say how much he purchased the land for.
