THE BIG PICTURE: Sands, based in Las Vegas, is seeing tremendous growth in Macau and Singapore. Only 15.2 percent of the revenue for Sands during the quarter came from its Las Vegas casinos. While that market is showing some recovery, Sands is likely to concentrate on growing overseas.
THE ANALYSIS: Key Banc Capital Markets analyst Dennis Forst said it was an "impressive quarter by any standard."
SHARE ACTION: Shares of Sands rose $3.36, more than 8 percent, to $44.42 in midmorning trading.
