The Detroit Casino Council will be back at the bargaining table today in a round of negotiations watched closely by city leaders because of the tens of millions in city tax revenue at stake and intense competition in the region among casinos.

What casinos are involved? MGM Grand Detroit, Greektown and MotorCity.
Who are the labor unions that are involved? The Detroit Casino Council is a consortium of four labor unions that bargain on behalf Detroit's casino workers. It includes employees represented by UAW Local 7777, Unite Here Local 24, Teamsters Local 372 and the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 324.
What kind of workers do they represent? Food and beverage workers, guest room attendants, dealers, valet, front desk and engineers, among others.
How many workers do they represent? Nearly 6,000.
What is the status of the contract? The contract with all three casinos was set to expire on Oct. 16. All sides agreed to continue working under an indefinite extension.
What is the status of the negotiations? Bargaining sessions are scheduled for Monday and Tuesday as well as Nov. 16 and Nov. 17.
