Fairfax County police said a woman was robbed as she and her husband were returning from an evening at a casino late Saturday night, and one man was shot as the suspects tried to flee.
Police said the couple arrived at their home in the 5000 block of Kenerson Drive shortly before midnight on Saturday. As they approached their front door, a black woman grabbed the victim and took her purse.
Due to the commotion, other family members came rushing out of the house and began to chase the suspect. The female suspect fled to a nearby vehicle, being driving by a black man.
Someone in the vehicle fired a gun at the pursuing family, striking a 66-year-old woman in the arm. She was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
No further description of the suspects was available.
