Several people were arrested Friday after a brawl broke out at Resorts World Casino in Queens at the opening of a new New Orleans-style daiquiri bar. Around 300-400 people were estimated to have been involved in the fight, which occurred around 10 p.m. at the four-year-old Ozone Park casino. As you can see in the videos below, a lot of chairs were sent flying around the room.
Here was the line when people arrived:
And here's the ensuing chaos:
The Post claims the fight erupted over long lines for the opening night of the Fat Tuesday daiquiri bar, then spilled into the casino’s food court and out into the parking lot.
A handful of people, including cops and security guards, suffered injuries. At least three people were arrested. A source added to the Post that investigators are "looking into whether the fight was gang-related and whether shots were fired in the parking lot."
Police tell CBS there was extensive damage to the casino, and repairs will cost up to $4,000. "Didn’t really see much of people trying to call the cops, you just see people trying to get footage of it," one witness told them.
