CLEVELAND, Ohio - Craft beers and wine on tap, 35 large-screen televisions and electronic table games are the highlights of Horseshoe Casino Cleveland's new $4 million Tag Bar and Lounge.
The 2,000-square foot center on the second floor, at the skywalk entrance, opens tonight. It features 40 electronic table games, including blackjack, roulette and craps, including several embedded in the 360-degree bar.
The casino is the only venue in Ohio that has such games.
Sixteen flat-screen televisions are above the bar and 19 others are mounted throughout the area. The latest sports news scrolls on a large electronic sign.
The bar will feature 30 rotating, craft beers from around the country, eight wines on tap and a half-dozen "hoptails," which are specialty cocktails made with craft beers, the casino said.
Not only is the he 17-member team at the bar Cicerone Certified for their knowledge of beer storage, service, styles and culture but all servers have been trained on blackjack, craps and roulette to assist guests in playing the games.Â
The casino will hold a grand opening party on Sunday as the Cleveland Browns host the Pittsburgh Steelers. The event includes drink specials, football prizes, free slot play and appearances by mascots Moondog from the Cavaliers and Slider from the Indians.
After the game ESPN Radio Cleveland will broadcast a live post-game discussion for three hours at the bar.
Casino officials said the new gaming area was added because of the high demand for table games at the Cleveland casino. The casino added 24 table games shortly after it opened two years ago.
There is not enough space in the current casino to add tables, so the electronic games will attract current and new customers, officials said.Â
The casino removed 200 slot machines to make room for the bar.Â
