The city's Department of Neighborhood Services said the bugs were discovered last week.
A spokesman for the casino said they were in a few isolated areas of the casino, and crews immediately treated those areas.
An extermination company said it takes about three weeks on average to fully get rid of bed bugs.
The bugs do not discriminate. They're found in the nicest venues, people's homes, movie theaters and restaurants.
"They're everywhere. It's a possibility every time you go out. Bugs can hitch a ride on a coat, on a purse, any type of clothing article. They're looking for us. They're looking for that human temperature and the human respiration, so whatever is close for us is what they're going to latch onto," said Karl Rowell of Batzner Bed Bug Services.Â
A spokesman for the casino said, "Outside experts will be working on site over the next several days to ensure the issue is eradicated and to establish a system to prevent any future recurrence."
The Milwaukee Health Department said bedbugs are not a public health hazard and don't spread disease.
