Hollywood Casino Perryville's owner is hoping table games will help the casino's fortunes.
The casino posted Monday on its Facebook page that it expects to bring in table games sometime in March.
The facility will be getting eight poker tables and 12 tables for other games, including craps, roulette, blackjack and three-card and four-card poker, spokeswoman Jennifer Miglionico said. Hollywood Casino Perryville is owned by multi-state casino and racetrack operator Penn National Gaming.
Miglionico did not know exactly when the new games will arrive, explaining the casino is still working with Maryland Lottery officials on the approval process for setting up the games.
The opening date, as well as news of any grand opening, will be announced by Hollywood Casino as soon as it becomes available, she said.
All the equipment, including cards, dice and layouts, all have to go through an approval process.
Miglionico said the company has put out a commercial as well as a radio spot and other marketing tools.
She did not know how much the tables would be expected to generate in revenue.
"It's going to be great for the casino. Now we are going to have a full casino package," she said. "Now we will have live action tables."
Hollywood Casino Perryville, which opened in September 2010, was the first slots casino to begin operation after Maryland voters approved slots gambling in 2008.
Voters gave approval last November to a law permitting table games at existing slots casinos, subject to lottery commission approval.
