777 Gaming Inc., whose principal is Rory Bedore, has filed an application with the state Gaming Control Board to buy the Carson City casino, which has 260 slot machines. The price of the deal wasn't disclosed.
Bedore, involved in real estate and banking in the Las Vegas area, started Silver State Gaming in 1997.
The casino initially was built as a Travel Lodge and went through several sales before going into bankruptcy. Russell and then-Lt. Gov. Bob Cashell purchased the hotel casino out of bankruptcy. Russell later bought out Cashell, who is now the Reno mayor.
The sale hinges on approval by the Nevada Gaming Commission.
