MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Country Crossing casino owner Ronnie Gilley is asking a federal judge to let him out of jail pending his trail on gambling corruption charges in June.

U.S. District Judge Myron Thompson has scheduled a hearing for Gilley on Monday morning in Montgomery.

A federal magistrate judge ordered Gilley to jail a month ago

after former Country Crossing lobbyist Jarrod Massey testified Gilley made him a financial offer not to plead guilty in the case. Gilley's attorneys say that makes it hard for the Enterprise businessman to prepare for his trial. They are asking Thompson to let Gilley out of the Montgomery City Jail pending trial

Gilley and nine others are accused of buying and selling votes on pro-gambling legislation.
