Casino license vote won't likely come this month - PennLive.com

It’s been more than three months since four resorts made their cases to host a casino. But where the state’s last resort casino license will go is still up in the air.

The
Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board won’t likely award the license at its meeting Thursday, said board spokesman Richard McGarvey. And it may be a while before that vote comes, he said, because the proposals need to be looked over by the board’s newest members, Keith McCall — sworn in earlier this month — and Tony Moscato — who joins the board Thursday.

The board first planned to make a decision by early January but was gridlocked. All four members appointed by legislators and at least one of three appointed by the governor need to agree to award a license.

After Thursday, the board's next meeting is March 9.

Four sites are vying for the license, which allows up to 600 slots and 50 table games — Park Inn Harrisburg West in Hampden Twp. (the Holiday Inn until January), Mason-Dixon Resort and Casino near Gettysburg, Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Fayette County and Fernwood Hotel and Resort in the Poconos.
