LV Air, a new charter air carrier, is gambling that an exclusive New York-to-Las Vegas route, with unheard-of perks, will be a big winner. <![CDATA[ #plain_module { width: 590px; height:200px; border: none; float:left; margin:0px; font-size:12px;} #plain_module img {border:none; width: 13px; height:14; border: 0px; margin:0px; } #plain_module .mini_main { margin: 0px; padding:0px; width:585px; height:220px; repeat scroll 0 0} #plain_module .mini_item_header {padding:10px 0px; margin: 0px 0px; font-size:16px; color: #555555; border-bottom:1px dotted #CCCCCC;} #plain_module .mini_item {padding:5px 0px; margin: 0px 0px;} #plain_module a { color: #49A3CA; text-decoration:none; } #plain_module a:hover { color: #F98419; text-decoration:underline;} span.gray {color:#949494;} .mini_main li{list-style-type: none;background-image: url(http://www.aolcdn.com/travel/bullet);background-repeat: no-repeat;background-position: 0 1px;padding-left: 10px;}]]>

The company plans to fly four nonstop flights a day between New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport and McCarran International beginning as early as this August, reports the Las Vegas Sun.

If successful, the charter airline could increase the number of seats coming in from the New York market by nearly 50 %, to 2,495 a day, which is nearly the twice the number that come in daily from Reno.

LV Air's top executive, Sean Smith, says the company would fly four leased wide-bodied Boeing 767 jets. Smith plans to contract with casino companies to buy seats on the planes and give them to their best customers, the newspaper reports. The airline would then give casinos access to its database of its customers.

"The goal is to fill Las Vegas hotel rooms with players, conventioneers and vacationers from the Northeast by drawing a straight line between the customer at his home to the casino floor and back again," Smith said.

The company is aiming to have the first-class cabins sponsored by casino companies that would design the cabin décor, carpet, uniforms, meals, blankets, pillows and seating upholstery, the newspaper reports.

Among the exclusive services passengers would receive are a "straight to the room" baggage service, where once they check their suitcases in at New York, they don't see them again until they get to their hotel room, where they will be waiting for them.

When passengers check in for their flight, they will also be checked into their hotel in Las Vegas, complete with room keys, allowing them to skip the line at the hotel and go straight to their room, or to the gaming floor.

And in a performance befitting a Las Vegas revue, onboard safety briefings will given by recorded holographic images of Las Vegas celebrities. Smith said iconic celebrities, living or dead, could present messages with that technology, according to news reports.

Other in-flight offerings include in-flight meal packs prepared by Las Vegas chefs; 18-seat first-class cabin that fully recline; wireless iPads; inter-seat texting and video; Wi-Fi access' club music and mood lighting.
