After an absence of more than two decades, the Golden Nugget brand is returning to Atlantic City. Landry’s, the casino’s parent company, announced this week that it would buy the Trump Marina Hotel and Casino and open a Golden Nugget on that site.
The company said it planned to update the
casino with new bars, lounges, shops and renovated rooms. Among other new features: a spa, a race and keno room and a lounge that will include all-season hot tubs and fire pits. The improvements will take place by the end of the year, Landry’s said. And travelers who have customer points with the Trump casino will be able to use them at the new Golden Nugget in Atlantic City and at two others owned by Landry’s, in Las Vegas and Laughlin, Nev.
Landry’s, which owns and operates hundreds of properties, is buying the casino for $38 million pending regulatory approval.
