CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - State gambling regulators say Nevada casino winnings edged up a slight 0.1% in 2010, compared with a year earlier.
The Nevada Gaming Control Board reported Thursday that casinos in Nevada won $10.4 billion for the calendar year.
That was up about $12 million over
Taxes on casino winnings make up about a third of Nevada's general fund revenues, and the so-called casino "gaming win" hasn't returned to 2004 levels.
But even with a big drop since 2007, state officials are pointing to a 10-year average of 1% growth per year.
The year-end gambling report showed revenues were down 4.3% in Washoe County, 2.3% in Elko County and less than 1% in Clark County.
Casino winnings on the Las Vegas Strip jumped 4.1%.
