Throughout this month in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, limited edition pink apparel is now on sale at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa, with all proceeds going to Tulsa Project Woman.
For sale are two pink shirts with the message “Peace, Love & Hope for a Cure” printed on the front, a tote bag and a visor. The items start at $10.
“This pink apparel is a creative way for our guests and Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa to contribute to the ongoing fight against breast cancer,” said Jon Davidson, director of hospitality at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa. “We’re extremely proud to contribute 100 percent of the funds to Tulsa Project Woman, because it is a local organization that provides services year round to those who are battling a disease that impacts thousands of Oklahomans each year.”
Tulsa Project Woman provides breast health education, no cost mammography, diagnostic procedures and surgical services for women who, because of financial hardship, may delay seeking medical attention.
According to the American Cancer Society, more than 190,000 cases of invasive breast cancer were estimated to be diagnosed among women in 2009. It was also estimated more than 40,000 women were expected to die from breast cancer.
From 2002 – 2006, the American Cancer Society reports more than 150 women per 100,000 in Oklahoma were diagnosed with breast cancer.
