Harrisburg, will help determine who will get a license for a resort hotel casino, which must have no fewer than 275 rooms, be more than 15 miles from another slot machine casino, and already offer year-round recreational activities.

The applicants are:

Mason-Dixon Resorts L.P., to be at the Eisenhower Hotel, Conference Center and Resort in Cumberland Township, Adams County;

Woodlands Fayette L.L.C., to be at the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort, Wharton Township, Fayette County;

Penn Harris Gaming L.P., to be at the Holiday Inn Harrisburg West, Hampden Township, Cumberland County; and

Bushkill Group Inc., to be at the Fernwood Hotel and Resort, Middle Smithfield Township, Monroe County.

The Valley Forge Resort Casino was awarded a similar, Category 3, license in April 2009, but that action has been appealed by Greenwood Gaming, operator of the Parx Casino in Bensalem.    - Roslyn Rudolph
