Monday, October 4, 2010 – The head of BamaJam Records, Ronnie Gilley, was one of several Alabama residents indicted Monday by a federal grand jury in connection with conspiring to buy and sell votes to get electronic bingo legalized.
Indicted along with Gilley were the owner of Alabama's largest casino, four state senators and several lobbyists .
The BamaJam label includes Matt Kennon and
Blackberry Smoke. Gilley was the developer of the Country Crossing complex and founder of the BamaJam Music & Arts Festival.
Gilley also formed Stroudavarious Records with well-known music producer and label head James Stroud.
