Newton to perform at Choctaw casino opening - Victoria Advocate

SANDERSVILLE, Miss. (AP) - Las Vegas entertainer Wayne Newton will perform at the Dec. 20 opening of the new Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians casino in Jones

County.

The Bok Homa (BOHK HO-MUH) Casino will open at 11 a.m. at Bogue Homa Community just on the outskirts of Sandersville.

The Laurel Leader-Call reports that Choctaws spokesman Warren Strain told county supervisors that Newton confirmed his appearance last week to the tribe.

The casino will have more than 700 slot machines and a quick-serve eatery. Strain says the casino will have two electronic Black Jack tables and one electronic roulette table.

Strain says that the Choctaw Police Department will have a substation located at the casino. He said there will be armed officers in place for the safety of the customers.
