Three of the suspects in the Thursday night shootout at Saracen Casino Resort that left a security guard wounded have been arrested, Pine Bluff Police Chief Kelvin Sergeant confirmed Saturday.

Sergeant did not immediately confirm which of the three have been arrested or whether they were found or surrendered.

He did say in an email that the federal government would take over the case and issue indictments.

Police said Friday morning that five men fled from the casino parking lot and were wanted on charges of first-degree battery. They were identified as: Tirek Langel, 22; Kuro'n Lavell Brown, 21; Brandon Burnett, 27; Joshua McAfee, 27; and Dontarius Slater, 26.

A Saracen official said the casino security system was used to identify the men, who began to leave the parking lot in a dark-colored car -- possibly a Nissan Altima, according to police -- after being escorted from the casino for "behaving inappropriately."

One of the men reportedly stepped out of the vehicle and fired at security guards, who then returned fire before the gunman got back in the vehicle as it fled, heading toward Stuttgart.

The security guard received a superficial wound and was treated and released Friday.
