GULFPORT — Rotate Black has been given one year site approval by the Mississippi Gaming Commission to present plans for a casino on the site of the former Marine Life property in Gulfport.

Gaming Commission Chairman Jerry St. Pe tells The Sun Herald that the approval process took less than five minutes at Thursday's meeting in Jackson.

St. Pe said the determination of

whether the property is a suitable site are fundamental and critical issues that will be dealt with when Rotate Black officials return to the commission with plans for a casino.

The developer has projected the casino would create 1,500 jobs and more than $4 million in tax revenue to Gulfport when the resort is fully built.
