Casinos are usually a pretty good bet for ringing in the new year in a fun way if you live in Southern California — at least in a normal year. Our list of things to do for New Year’s Eve at the casinos is usually massive, with the larger resorts such as Pechanga leading the way with multiple events that attract thousands of visitors.

This year, with the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Pechanga has canceled New Year’s Eve events completely, and a lot of casinos, if they have events, are trying to keep them small. It will be a much quieter New Year’s Eve.

Beyond Southern California.. 

The Mirage on the Las Vegas strip will close all of its amenities, including its hotel, casino and restaurants, midweek starting Jan. 4 due to fewer visitors. The casino had already been closing its hotel during the middle part of the week, but kept its other amenities open. The Las Vegas Sun has more.
