BANGOR, Maine — Even if Maine voters' approval of the Oxford County casino stands after a recount, the proposal may face some tweaking after the new legislature convenes.

The Bangor Daily News reports that Bangor's Hollywood Slots and other

opponents of the Oxford casino want to ensure that Hollywood Slots will be able to add table games to its operation without going to a statewide referendum.

The referendum that appeared to win by a slim margin after the Nov. 2 election allows Black Bear Entertainment to build a resort casino in Oxford County featuring slot machines and table games.

Black Bear Entertainment, the group behind the Oxford casino, says the legislature should respect voters and leave the law alone.
