Pala Casino, Spa & Resort in northern San Diego County is among the casinos that will reopen its doors on Friday, May 22.

In postings to its social media pages, Pala announced that it will open at 10 a.m.

On its website, the casino says it is opening its gaming floor, its hotel with limited availability and some of its restaurants with modified hours.

Other locations, including its fitness center, spa, pool and buffet, will remain closed temporarily.

Guests, employees and vendors will have to get their temperature checked by a no contact thermal temperature scanner prior to entry and anyone with a fever will not be allowed in. Eeryone who enters will also have to wear a cloth face covering (face coverings will be provided to those that don’t have them)

Table games and slot machines have been adapted to accommodate social distancing. Changes have been made at the casino’s restaurants to allow for social distancing and many things will be single use and disposable, including menus, plates, cups, utensils and condiments. The casino’s bars have also been modified for social distancing.

Floor markers will be put at all areas where lines form including the casino entrance, hotel front desk and rewards club area for safe social distancing. There will also be signage throughout with information from the CDC on COVID-19 signs and symptoms and safe social distancing.

The release also says that all employees have been trained on COVID-19 prevention, hygiene and proper sanitation and the proper use of items such as face masks, face shields and gloves.

Pala joins a list of casinos that includes Pechanga Resort Casino; Cahuilla Casino Hotel; Soboba Casino Resort; Valley View Casino and Hotel; Harrah’s Resort Southern California; Morongo Casino, Resort and Spa; Spotlight 29 Casino; Tortoise Rock Casino; and the Agua Caliente Casinos in Rancho Mirage and Palm Springs.
