Resort Casino Hearings Begin Today - FOX43.com

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board will be holding eligibility and suitability hearings over the next two days for four proposed casinos, including ones in Gettysburg and Hampden Township.

The

hearings are scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the State Museum at 3rd and North streets in Harrisburg.

Mason-Dixon Resorts, which proposed a casino near Gettysburg, will be the first group to make its case to the PGCB.

The group backing a casino at the Holiday Inn Harrisburg West in Hampden Township, Penn Harris Gaming, will give its presentation Wednesday at 3 p.m.

The board will look into the specifics of each group's proposal, including plans for traffic and social concerns.

Two other groups, Fernwood Hotel and Resort in the Poconos and Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Fayette County, will also make their presentations.

A PGCB spokesman said the board should choose which project will the get the casino license by the end of the year.
