An escalator fire Sunday evening prompted an evacuation at the Terrible's Hotel & Casino on Paradise Road, Clark County officials said.

County spokeswoman Stacey Welling said the Clark County Fire Department responded at 5:55 p.m. after a small fire started under an escalator in the casino at 4100 Paradise Road.

"It basically went up a wall and extended a little bit on the second floor," she said.

No one was injured. She said hotel guests in their rooms were told to stay there, while those in the casino area were evacuated.

Firefighters were working to remove smoke from the building Sunday evening. The cause of the fire hasn't been determined.
