PUEBLO — A casino in central Colorado is planning to build an adjoining 104-room hotel.

The Pueblo Chieftain reports Wildwood Casino announced Monday plans for the $14 million hotel in Cripple Creek that it expects to open next year.

Officials say construction is scheduled to begin in mid-May.

Casino owner Joseph Canfora says they aim for the hotel to be affordable for the average visitor.

He says they plan for the hotel to open before the other two hotel projects planned for the city.

Bronco Billy’s Casino has planned a $70 million project for a 150-room upscale hotel, restaurants and conference center additions.

Triple Crown Casinos announced last year plans to build a $40 million hotel with 150 rooms.
