Robbery suspect jumps 50 feet from casino parking garage

ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – St. Louis police are investigating the robbery of an elderly woman at a downtown casino.  Police say the robbery happened around 2 am at the Lumiere Casino.

Authorities say the woman was headed to the 3rd level parking garage when a suspect approached her and demanded money.

Investigators say the suspect fled the scene when he noticed someone calling for help.

The suspect was located on security cameras on the west side of the building.  When security personnel caught up with the suspect, he jumped from the 4th floor of the garage to the street below.

The suspect fell about 50 feet and then tried to hide under a parked vehicle.

FOX2 been told the suspect broke a leg, his back, and is now hospitalized facing charges.

We’ve requested an interview with the casino, but so far have not heard back from the casino.

Officials warned patrons to be aware of their surrounding and to be safety conscious when leaving a casino.

The woman was not injured.
