Sacramento casino janitor finds $10,000 in bathroom and hands it over to rightful owner

Honesty was the best policy for one casino janitor who found a wad of $10,000 in a bathroom stall.

Rather than pocketing the cash, Meuy Saelee decided to hand it over to her bosses at Thunder Valley Casino in Sacramento, Calif.

Using surveillance video they managed to track down the money's owner — a woman called Linh Hoang.

But if Saelee thought she was going to receive a reward for her honorable actions, she was sorely mistaken.

At first, casino janitor Meuy Saelee thought the wad of cash she found in the women’s room was fake.

CBS Local reports that Hoang merely said “thank you” when the money was placed back into her hands.

Casino bosses, however, decided she deserved a payout and so handed her a $500 bonus. She decided to share $50 of it with her manager.

Saelee admitted that she initially thought the cash was fake, when she discovered it at 2:30 a.m. last Friday.

CBS also reports that Hoang was arrested last year for leaving her children unsupervised at home while she gambled at the casino.
