"Contrary to the statement that this is nothing but politics, with the late date, that's the furthest thing from the truth," said Traficant. "I needed this thing done six months ago."

"Number one you endorse the project, stand behind it," he said. "When you hear all the reasons why it can't, and all the technicalities, stand tall. We're for it. Number two, to immediately resolve and recommend the governor of Ohio, that he too endorse it."
It was announced earlier this week that 20 acres of land in Jackson Township was acquired for the casino. The next step is trying to get it named as an Indian reservation.
"It starts now in Washington," said Traficant. "Attorney Ron Allen will be going to Washington. He will be meeting with the department of interior. Here's what I expect; the powers that be around the country are much bigger than what our community can offer, so they'll be hitting on the government to say, don't recognize this. Don't make it happen."
Traficant is promising one thousand jobs to come along with the casino. That's a figure commissioners can't ignore.
"So for us to say oh no we're against it, that would be foolish," said Commissioner Anthony Traficanti. "A thousand jobs is a thousand jobs, and people here are ready to work."
But they do want more information before they act.
"We cant ignore it, added Traficanti. "So we're going to attend the meeting next week in Jackson township, that trustees are going to hold a public hearing. "Let the public come and hear the presentation. I personally need more details."
That meeting is set for Tuesday, October 19 at 7:30PM.
