James Bond is back… yet again. As expected, Sony Pictures Entertainment said today it would co-finance, theatrically market and release the 23rd installment of MGM’s fabled 007 franchise internationally, with the exception of a few territories.

Sony also released the previous two installments of the

franchise, “Casino Royale” and “Quantum of Solace”, which starred British actor Daniel Craig as Ian Fleming’s notorious spy. The new film will be released on November 9, 2012.

“We could not be more proud or privileged to continue our association” with the Bond franchise, said Sony Pictures Co-Chairman Amy Pascal.

Additionally, the two studios — whose next collaboration is this summer’s Kevin James comedy “Zookeeper” — agreed to continue exploring co-financing opportunities for the next five years.
