The long-awaited hotel portion of Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem will become a reality in May.

The Sands Hotel will have 300 rooms, including 16 executive suites and six presidential suites, which include modern amenities such as wireless

Internet, media hubs and high-definition flat-screen televisions. The hotel also has an indoor pool, fitness room and complimentary continental breakfast.

The hotel will feature “In-Room Dining from Emeril’s Kitchen," an exclusive private dining serving with offerings from Emeril's Chop House, Burgers And More by Emeril and Emeril’s Italian Table, the chef’s newest restaurant at the Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem, also scheduled to open this spring.

“Whether you’re joining us in my restaurants, or dining in the comfort of your room, we want to serve a memorable and delicious meal,” Chef Emeril Lagasse says in a news release. “I’m really excited to provide guests with this unique option as part of their overall experience while staying at the new Sands Hotel.”

The Sands Hotel has more than 5,000 square feet of state-of-the-art meeting space and 3,000 square feet of pre-function and exhibit spaces designed for events and corporate meetings. A professional event planner is available to help with functions.

The hotel is designed by Lee Architectural Associates and Noble Hampton Interiors and the interior is a blend of contemporary and classic design styles.

“We have been a proud member of the Lehigh Valley business community since we opened our doors nearly two years ago, and look forward to bringing even more new visitors to the area with the addition of the Sands Hotel,” Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem President Robert DeSalvio says in a news release. “With deluxe amenities, premium dining options and state-of-the-art meeting space, we expect the Sands Hotel to be a destination for leisure and business travelers alike.”

In addition to the hotel and conference center, future development includes plans for a 200,000-square-foot shopping complex and nearly 50,000 square feet of flexible multi-purpose space, according to the news release.

The casino portion of the resort, situated on the site of the former historic Bethlehem Steel plant, has been open since May 2009.
