Many of the ideas for Macomb County are in the conversation stage and far from becoming a reality.

Hackel said he thinks people from Michigan, Canada and Ohio would visit Macomb County if it had one.
This would be an opportunity for us to do something that would be an attraction for the region right on the lakefront, he said. This would be more of a tourist destination type of a casino.
The water in Macomb County positions the area for economic development, Hackel said.
I think its underappreciated, underutilized and weve got to get out there and start promoting it, he said.
He said water quality and water access are top priorities for him.
Cleaning up the Clinton River so people can canoe and kayak is one way to jump-start economic development, he said.
