Forty-year-old Ophadell Williams was behind the wheel Saturday when the World Wide Tours bus he was driving crashed, careened and eventually killed 15 people, and today the Brooklyn man will face
federal investigators to tell his side of the story.

People who live at the Herkimer Street brownstone where Williams is listed as living, clashed with reporters Tuesday, yeling expletives and demanding they leave.

No doubt they'll be asking what everyone else is: What was Williams doing moments before the crash? Did he fall asleep? Was his bus, as he says, clipped by a tractor trailer? What did he do during his layover at Mohegan Sun? And should he have even been driving a bus in the first place?

Here's what we do know: Apparently, the Brooklyn man did have a license and had one under an alias, Erik Williams.

Here's a little bit of his history: In 1995, Williams was caught for speeding, then caught two times for driving without a license. Investigators say he never responded, and his license was suspended. In 2003, he was busted again for driving without a license.

Much has been made about Williams' criminal history. Sources say he fatally stabbed a man about 20 years ago and was convicted for manslaughter, which is a felony.

Some are asking how could a convicted felon even get a commercial driver's license. PIX 11 News wondered too. A simple Google search showed it's easy.

The National Traffic Safety Board is reportedly doubting Williams story that he was clipped by a tractor trailer, moments before the deadly scene unfolded.

Witnesses say Williams swerved onto the shoulder several times before the crash.

Williams apparently hadn't updated his log book even though drivers are required to record all of their trips.

Williams has not yet been charged and federal investigators are considering other possible mechanical causes of the crash.
